The Darkest Hour

2011. Science Fiction / Action / Thriller. Director: Chris Gorak. Writers: Jon Spaihts, Leslie Bohem, M.T. Ahem. Cast: Emile Hirsch, Max Minghella, Olivia Thirlby, Rachael Taylor.

A bunch of invisible electro aliens invade the Earth as two young internet entrepreneurs got stranded in Moscow. Clearly the embryo of this film was merely the distinctive form of these vicious aliens and their specialty in helping mankind speeding the from-dust-to-dust process. Everything went just wrong. The illogical solutions were so often justified merely by uninspiring dialogues. The characters are not strongly unique to each other – they just follow the textbook. The plot is highly predictable. It has a very bad anticlimax. The only way to make this film worse is to watch it in 3D – which I did. Dammit, Emile Hirsch! What were you on when you signed up for this career-destroying movie?!
